Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer?
I offer production, tracking, mixing, and editing services. I can be hired to do any combination of these services depending on your preferences or where you are in your project's timeline. I can also give you suggestions for other services like mastering, songwriting, and promotion if you're looking for those as well.
What are your rates?
Well, that depends. It depends on the services you're looking for, the amount of songs, the timeline, what your budget looks like, etc.
The best thing to do is to contact me about your project with as much information as possible so I can give you the most accurate quote. We can discuss options, timelines, and alternatives best this way.
What is your typical tracking process like?
My tracking process can go a few different ways. I have tracked bands by recording one instrument at a time, similar to most modern productions and I have also done a "Basics" session where the whole band played together and overdubbed extra instruments on top like in the old days. I can work in any studio in and around the Boston/New England area. I do prefer to work out of Q Division Studios in Somerville, MA as I am most familiar with those rooms and gear, but I know that not all artists/bands have the budget for multiple sessions in those rooms (for more info about Q Division Studios, click here).
I also have a home setup that is great for recording guitars and bass. I record a straight DI signal into the computer and use an amp sim sound during tracking. This can then be reamped later if desired. I can also accommodate your AxeFx/Kemper setup too.
How long have you been involved in music?
I started playing guitar back in 1997. I took lessons for many years and played with many different musicians starting in high school. I started performing professionally around 2009 with a classic rock cover band called 24 South. We played dozens of shows over the three and a half years we were together. After that, I started my education at Berklee College of Music in 2012 in the Music Production & Engineering major while still honing my guitar skills. While I was a student at Berklee, I joined City of Dis as a 2nd guitar player in 2013, where I am most active in performing and playing guitar. I also currently work in the Studio Operations office at Berklee as a Supervisor.
What are your biggest musical influences?
I'm a prog rock/metal fan to the core! I'm a huge Dream Theater fan and I even used the first section of "In The Presence of Enemies" off of their Systematic Chaos album as my audition piece to get into Berklee. I also love Mastodon, Gojira, Lamb of God, Between the Buried and Me, Anciients, Protest the Hero, and Soundgarden to name a few. I also had a soft spot for MuDvAyNe back in the day believe it or not.
What is your stance on pineapple on pizza?
Pineapple on pizza is an abomination! My wife is from Italy and you would get kicked out of Italy if you put pineapple on pizza. Chicken, on the other hand, is amazing and should be on all pizzas! But don't tell my wife that. That's another no-no in Italy.
I'm interested in working with you. What would the next step be?
